Ok this is my third monitor (first one had dead pixel and second had the same issues im having now).

Turn on my PS3 or change video modes (start a game, movie ect.) the monitor will go off blinking off and on sometimes displaying to picture for split second and other times just showing blue. After a few times of this or a few minutes of this (its random) the picture will initialize and then its fine until I change modes again.

When I first got the monitor it did not do this and then after a few weeks it started up again. Which is the exact same thing that happened with my second one. It was fine at first but then two weeks later it started doing this. I bought this monitor soley for how much people talk it up for use with consoles and now its pissing me off so much I dont want to use it for that...

Any ideas?

Ok I played with it some more last night. Put a HDMI to DVI cable from the PS3 to my monitor and it works perfectly fine from what I can tell and then used the HDMI cable to go from my computer to the monitor and it did the same thing as the PS3 did on the HDMI. So to eliminate one more thing I ordered a 5ft HDMI cable from monoprice... maybe this belkin one is bunk.

Going on that theory I straitened the cable over its entire length and its working better now. Most of the time it displays the picture right away and ive only had it do the flickering thing twice now. Reading into the symptoms it seems to have something to do with HDCP timings as others have experienced the same thing just with certain displays (which I haven't heard of any such issues with this BenQ).

Ok got my new cable from Monoprice.com (which btw is an amazing cable for the price, cant believe they can make them so cheap) and I get the exact same issue.

I am so sick of this. This is now my 3rd G2400WD 2 of which exhibit this problem. On a monitor that is claimed to be the best out there for consoles due to compatibility and price.

I'm not having the same issue as you but somewhat related. DVI works flawlessly. My screen will display HDMI with no issues with my PC but as soon as the monitor turns off (through Vista) the screen becomes completely blue. I tried unplugging the HDMI cable from the screen and then change to HDMI mode as well but it still was just blue....

Unfortunately i think people overate the BenQ lcd's i have the E2200HD and have weird issues with it, it works fine but the auto input and signal detecting on this panel is the weirdest i have seen on a monitor yet, i get blue screen with HDMI etc etc as well, i think it's just how BenQ set their controller up, as said it works fine though, but yes those things mentioned piss me right off.

Yeah the blue screen thing is just how it is set up... it is not a fault. My TV is the same way only DVI and VGA auto standby.

I love this BenQ in every other respect. It is a great monitor for the price and its internal scaler is amazing. I just wish I would get one that didn't have this issue over HDMI.

I haven't seen anyone else with this problem on this monitor...(mainly TV's back when HDCP first came out) maybe it was just a bad batch that NCIX had stock of *shrug*

anyway NCIX didn't give me any hassle I just said it was doing it on both my PS3 and computer and they issued a RMA and collect shipping... so it is off to them again. This time they are sending it to BenQ so we will see. I am pissed that this is the 3rd time sending it back and that I will be without it for a couple weeks but...

Will come back and report on the new one when it gets here.
