Iam waiting on my new system which will be quad core and twin 8800GTX. However for the time being iam running a Geforce FX5500, the question that i have it weather or not i shall be able to use a DVI To HDMI cable. Im connecting it up to a new 37" 1920x1080 1080p TV. Would the 5500 be able to run on this TV. Iam using its VGA port for my xbox 360, and it does not have conponent or DVI ports. just two HDMI's and VGA/Component.

It shouldn't have any problems. HDMI is literally just a DVI interface with an audio interface tacked on, so it'll be just like running a DVI monitor at 1920x1080. The max resolution of that card should be 2048x1536, so the resolution of your HDTV is supported.

thanks mate, where would i go to change the resolution output of the card??

Same place you normally go to change the resolution. When you connect to the TV, it acts just like a normal monitor.
