Alright so Tero has made is apology to Kyle... cool.

So what uses, if any do you guys have for the product? I too am in the opinion its rather limited in terms of usefulness of a benchmarking tool.

However, I've found at least one pretty usefull use of it....

Whenever I build myself a new computer, or install a fresh OS I like to install 3dMark after all my drivers and benchmark my system... I take a mental note of my score, then I periodically benchmark my system over the following months to see how it compares. If my machines score becomes a little sluggish I'll start running a few adaware removal programs, and if necessary... install a fresh build of xp....

I use it as a test of stability. Yep, thats about it. ;)

Stability/Overclocking/Personal Tweaking*

*note, it's not the only application I use for all of the above, just one amongst a toolbox of utilities

I use it to see crap my video card cant play more then 1fps.

I have no use for synthetic benchmarks.

TimeDemo's are a better measure of system performance.
