fUnC or Icemat?

Between the two, which would be the better choice for gaming? Just want to see opinions. I tried to do a search for both and barely got anything. I have come to the conclusion of these two pads and price is not an issue so no need to worry about that. I'm going to be using it with the Logitech MX510.

steelpad 4d would be my best choice if i bought another one. they are about 23$ now +shipping. but out of those 2 you put, i would get icemat. but id prefer steelpad over that.

I use a funcpad with my MX510. It works well enough, much better than my old cloth pad. It's got a smooth and textured side, so you're likely to like at least one of the sides. Personally, I use the textured side. I've never used an Icemat so I can't really directly compare.

If price really isn't an issue though, you could get a funcpad, Ratpadz, Icemat, and Steelpad and use whatever one you like the best.

I have a fUnc1030 and its really nice. I always use the smooth side and its very comfortable. Works great with my MS Intelli 4.0.

Steelpad is great but it cost a LOT...if money isn't an issue get the higest grade steelpad

I hear the fUnc's are really nice, and I have yet to talk to someone with an icemat, but they look pretty good, too.

I have a ratpadz gs, and although I like it a lot, it's kinda wearin down after about a year.

Be careful with the steelpads, as they are not known to work well with logitech mice (this may only apply to non-mx mice, but still it's kinda weird to have a mouse that "doesn't work" with a mousepad)

steel pad is really nice, only problem with the steel pad is the sharp edge rapes your wrist.
Func is a really good pad, last for a long time and have 2 sides.
Ice mat is also nice but you have to keep your mouse clean as hell or it will scratch and the sound/friction will suck.
ratzpad wears down in like 4 weeks.
if you want a cloth pad go with a super mat or a DKT. right now i have a DKT and i love it.

I have owned both and the Icepad was my favorite mousepad ever. But, that was with a ball mouse. When I bought my MX700, it did not feel as responsive on the Icemat as on the Func. It worked, but did not feel tight during gaming. Between those 2, go with the Func.

However, my favorite mousepad with the MX700 is the Xtrac Pro HS. That is the one of choice now for me.

I might go with the fUnC after seeing all the responses. I've been hearing that the Icemat could make a loud and distinct scratching noise (like fingernails on a chalkboard).

Seems like everyone who ever owned a fUnC surface is very happy with theirs. Thanks for the opinions.

I have yet to find much of anything that i dislike about the fUnc 1030. I've only really used the smooth side on it though because it feels the most comfortable and it looks more stylish then the other rough side.

Hmm my func was better than the top of my desk..But im kind of dissapointed. It was amazingly smooth and no scratchyness on my mouse for about the first 2 weeks. Then it started to have a scratching sound.

I ended up getting teflon tape, its better now, but it didnt last. I now have a swoosh mark ground into my pad where my mouse normally travels. Maybe its just my house...MS InteliMouse Explorer 3.0.

Other than that its awesome .
