wow i've never had a problem with neweggs RMA department. Sent back tons of stuff (told me work about them and they're ordering stuff everday) and never had a problem. Hopefully they'll hook you up.

Newegg has 7 day return on CPUs, 30 on everything else. 15% restock fee applies if the product is not defective

hmm and i assume they give ur money back course? ( minus the 15 % of the market price of that item of course )

Actually i had another questoin , they'll charge 15 % restocking fee on the current market price or at the price at which i bought it at?

thanks

Depending on how much time has passed, odds are you are stuck with it.

Even if you call the day you get it and tell them its a 1.6 rather than a 2.4, its your word against theirs. They have no proof that you didn't swap it.

I realize this, but its not some hack job, this was done by a pro. Seems the only way to tell the cpu is a 1.6 was to verify the serial number with intel. The bios sees a 2.4, cpu-z sees a 2.4, and SL6D7 says its a 2.4, but the serial number says 1.6. Weird, aint it?

I've had no issues RMA'ing stuff back to Newegg. I had a power surge kill a computer 18 months ago (through TWO surge suppressors *sigh*). I ordered a new power supply at first thinking it was the problem. They sent me one, put it in and SIZZLE, it killed what was remaining of my mobo. Called Newegg to RMA the power supply, since I was going to get my insurance to cover replacement of computer. They told me to go ahead and send the motherboard in too since the PSU might have caused its death. The board was 6 months old (well outside of their return period) AND they refunded the full amount I paid instead of sending my a replacement, which surprised the hell out of me (which were in stock at $30 less).

I recently built a computer for a friend and had a hellacious time getting parts that worked. I ordered an MSI SFF that showed up DOA. Sent it back for separate mobo/case. Mobo I got in return was dead. No problems either replacement.

I've had my issues with DOA, but Newegg stands behind everything with no issues. I've spent enough there from various builds and have had enough stuff break that I almost feel guilty when something has to go back, but every time, they take care of the problem without complaint. I always take my business to Newegg for the service if nothing else. They may be more expensive with some (and I'll emphasize some) things, but after shipping and buying everything at one site, it is signifigantly better than breaking it up across multiple sites since everything should show up within a day of each other.

yeah, I've returned a couple of things and never had a problem. I'm not sure, I imagine the restock fee is based off the price you paid.
