Full size ATX cube case?

So after getting a a Corsair 250D and turning it eventually into a HTPC... I've kind of fell in love with cube type cases.

Now I've seen tons of options but their pretty much all mATX or ITX. Since I'll be running dual cards I want to stick with a full size ATX board for GPU spacing reasons.

So any cases you guys know about other than the Corsair Carbide 540? While the 540 isn't horrible, it's got a more plasticey look than I like.

If you can spend more look at Mountain Mods cases, particularly the U2-UFO and H2G0. They're more expensive but you get what you pay for. I've been using my Ascension + Pedestal for a few years now.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

The HAF is interesting, but I'm not sure about it. If for no other reason than adding a rad looks like it would eat up GPU space.

The Mountain Mods stuff honestly looks more like something I'd make than something I'd buy. Nothing wrong with that but if I was going to go that route I think I'd have more fun making it myself. And being a perfect 18" cube there seems to be a lot of wasted space unless doing a big custom water loop. Which I've been tempted to do but with how good AIO units are these days it doesn't seem to be worth the cost.

I did see a Thermaltake option but it's 26" long... Which is huge and once again tons of wasted space.

So at this point it's looking like the Corsair or going with a standard type tower.

Just throwing this out there. Corsair Carbide 240 can fit microatx boards and run dual sli. the 240 is still plasticy like the 540 but the form factor would be smaller. Also, you might want blower type gpu's since there won't be much space under the cards.

I had thought of it, but I'm not really liking the idea of having the cards stacked on top of each other. And for some bizarre reason reference style cards with blower fans actually cost more

That's one thing I don't get as well.

Anidees' AI-7 ATX cubes are an option or the Lian Li PC-343-XT Cube HPTX.
Though the latter is a real beast both in terms of size and costs.

It's pricey, but the Caselabs Mercury S8 is a horizontal ATX case as well.

That Anidees case is damn nice and the price is crazy cheap too!

And the Caselabs one is amazing with how you can customize it! A bit expensive but really nice.

I think it's between those two now. While expensive, you can keep re using a case so I can deal with the expense of the Caselabs. I'll have to look at em both a bit more after work.

Thanks for the great suggestions guys!

There's also the Cooltek W2:

It's only available in Europe currently and after importing it'll cost around $210 USD.

I'm also in the market for a compact lightweight case but haven't found anything I like yet...

That's nice. Like the anidees but without an ODD and with a sleeker look. However, the look seems to resemble the NCASE very much if you ask me.

Don't forget to factor in cooling. I've had a Corsair 540 for a while now and the flexilbility, easy install and cooling are insane. Like the OP, I'd prefer some more metal on it versus plastic but I'm OK with it now. I'd buy it again, although I'd probably buy silver or white as they have the LED fans in them. That's a nice little perk versus my original black.

There is lots of room in a HAF-XB for a rad and long video cards.

Fans are on the other side behind the case front in push and there is just enough room between the rad and the graphics card for another set if I want to go push/pull.

The cooltek is pretty sleek. Nice how it looks like they added a 5.25 bay to the back which is nice but in a place that makes it hard to use. And I actually use my ODD on a somewhat regular basis.

MrGreg62 - Nice, bring able to mount the fans like that makes things easier.

I keep looking back at the Caselabs case. It's just so damn expensive! lol

Thanks again for the suggestions and info guys, it's much appreciated!

If you spun that single rad so the longer parts were on the left and right instead of top and bottom would it still fit?

Looking at potentially using 2 of those setups to cool dual cards.

And nice looking HAF XB Arct1c0n, you do the graphics and grills yourself?

Graphics were pre-made, everything else I did. For a cube case, it's real hard to beat, I can't recommend it enough, I'll never go back to tower/refrigerator cases again
