I had a frozen SMP client on one of my boxen and didn't realize it for a few days. :mad: Is there any way (besides visually) to ensure that if the client freezes that I can close it and restart it automatically?
 
FAHMon will tell ya when there is a freeze.

As for the restart..... not sure.

 
Not that I know of. FahMon will allow you to notice this and I think the only way to correct it will be remote desktop. I do not believe there is any automated way to do this, but if there is I'd love to know about it.

If it's a hard crash remote desktop wont do much.....



 
Unfortunately, I don't use remote desktop on it, but I'll just have to keep a better eye on it. :(

From what he was saying is just the SMP client froze, which made me think the thing that happens when it looses network connectivity, and that can be corrected by just restarting the SMP client.

 
I have PalmVNC installed on both of my rigs at home. That allows me to monitor FAHMon and control them remotely with my Treo 650.

If a client is frozen, it' due to a network hiccup and a restart will fix it :)

 
+1 vote for a network connection problem being the cause of the frozen client.
 
Is there a way to monitor the clients remotely with FahMon? I have it installed but can only see the work on my computer.
 
You need to setup a shared folder where the client is installed then point Fahmon on that shared folder. Someone will bring the guide as I'm too lazy to search...

I did this on Sunday. Go to Network Connection Wizard which can be found in your control panel, setup network and name Each computer differently. Make sure they are all on the same Workgroup. Then on your main rig you can monitor all 4 computers. It requires you to touch each machine and to reboot each. Then move the F@H folder to the shared directory. Start both smp clients and go back to your main rig and if you configured your main rig on the same workgroup you should see your remote rig in your My network places under windows explorer. Just drag and drop those folders into FahMon and walla:

Ability to not only summarize most of your production but a great way to monitor if they are active.
