ok so i am trying to figure out what exact mobo i have so that i can get an unlocked bios for it. the numbers m2n68-la appear on the mobo itself. this is a narra3 from hp. from what i can gather, its actually a Asus board. and it has a phoenix award bios on it. currently the bios version is 5.14 and the bios id is 6/20/2008-mcp61p-narra3-00

i have also read that the only narra 3 mobo that supports quad cores are the m2n68-la gl8e. but mine is a quad core, and it doesnt say gl8e on it...see how im getting confused?
i found a fix for this mobo that also helps prevent me losing my video signal on restart after sleep mode ( posted that in another thread), BUT the computer that bios update is for is a athlon x64 processor and says nothing about quad support...so even though its the same mobo i dont know if i should down load it. however its ALOT newer at nov 2009 (mine is 6/08)

im trying to over clock the 9550 to 2.5 from 2.2 (should be able to on stock voltage) as my lowest windows experience score is 5.8 and its the processor.

so am i correct that if i find an unlocked bios for the m2n68-la board then i will be fine...or do i have to find something hp/ quad/ am2+ core specific? i think these same boards were use with am2 and somehow upgraded to take advantage of am2+

its so much simpler when you have money to buy a nice mobo :( lol

anyone that can help is much appreciated.

si sandra says i have an error...the fsb is rated at 3.6ghz but is running at 4.0ghz ive never touched this mobo, whats up with that.

also says the 9550 is a 2.2-2.8ghz cpu, so im gonna see what i can get out of it before i go changing voltages..

still looking for a bios though, all i can do now is change htt multiplier with ntune.
