Fried CPU ?

If a CPU is fried then nothing should come up at all correct? How can you be definite that a CPU is dead? Thanks
 
Find a system that uses compatible CPU's and put the CPU in that one.

I don't recall if there are error codes when a CPU is fried, because I generally don't have speakers connected. I've only actually had one CPU fried, when I was letting a friend test out his slocket card :).

man i was afriad of hearing that, i have one other system that i can test it on and it has one of them swiftech heat sinks that screw on under the mother boards. I dont want to take the motherboard off, then the heatsink :mad: O well thanks
