Frequency over range..

I have a Viewsonic G90+ and have my desktop set at 1280 x 1024 with a refresh rate of 75 Hz.

I just got C&C: Generals and put it in to play. While in options, I accidentally selected a resolution for the game of 1600 x 1200 and the screen went black with a message "frequency over range".

I thought ok. I'll just change the frequency to lower but it didn't work and now I can't get into the game to change the resolution. Everytime I start it up the screen goes black and I get the same message. I even tried unistalling it and reinstalling it again but no use.

It has to have something to do with the monitor. I'm confused because I can set my desktop at 1600 x 1200 and it works but I can't get into the game at all.

Is there any way I can get into the game to change the resolution or can someone tell me what's going on with this frequency over range stuff. I don't understand.

Thanks

donkey do you have an lcd? cuz im having a similiar problem but at boot not in game. Im thinking maybe it has something to do with refresh rate. But still looking into that. Have you tried deleting the registry entries for generals? I know after you uninstall the game it keeps some stuff in the registry. maybe thats it.

Hey.

Yeah, got it fixed. I needed to change the refresh rate for 1600 x 1200 which was under my NVidia panel.
