These statements are not officially from AMD, but from Richard Huddy himself. He clarified that after leaving people excited for about 15 minutes, where he withdrew his statement and noted that they were his own speculations, not AMD’s.
That's most likely because he wasn't authorized to talk about it yet. These guys don't speculate but they do sometimes get over excited and can't hold it to themselves and later back track to cover their ass. I am sure it's in the works or he wouldn't even think twice about saying anything about it.Dont get your hopes up too soon.
YAY!
I hope this helps force ONE adaptive sync to take over. Even if I am stuck holding a G-sync monitor, having one adaptive sync technology is a win for consumers.
Doubtful that Nvidia would adopt it even then. All they have to do is add it to the Nvidia Shield and tell their GPU customers to interface with their d devices if they want to game in the living room. That way they can keep their GSYNC proprietary lock on their customers in the PC Gaming space. Most people upgrade their GPU 3 or 4 times before they upgrade their monitor if ever. Look at the Sony CRT thread that keeps getting bumped in the Displays subsection here on [H]ardocp.
