Hey all, I'm not really experienced with this stuff but I was looking at setting up a small freenas system and was wondering why the ram requirements are so high (i think it says like 4gigs minimum but 8gigs+ reccomended). So out of the old parts laying around I was originally just planning on using 2GB of ram on an atom board for my nas build but that doesn't quite seem adequate anymore? Why does it require so much memory? Would it work with 2GB of memory? What is all the memory used for? Thanks.
