I am looking at converting my WHS2011 to FreeNAS in an attempt to improve responsiveness.

Current server HW:
G6950, P7H55-M LX, 3GB Ram, 3x 2TB HDD

Relevant other HW:
Running HDHomerun Prime, 2 MC extenders on all GbE network

My question is on optimizing for performance-
Would increasing RAM to 8G and adding something like an Intel 313 (20G SLC SSD) make a significant improvement in performance?

If not, what makes the most impact per dollar spent?
