Has anyone in here had any experience returning a PSU to fortron

I have a collegue that RMA'd a 450 watt unit to them, it took over 3 weeks, he had to show original purchase  and he no longers lives at home, he is away at college, they would not send the unit to him at school, they insisted he receive the unit at home at the address on the original sales receipt ??? He had to wait an additional week for his family to send him the unit from home to school?

what turn around time have others experienced, 10 days is plenty in my book! and that original sales receipt crap is bogus, they should be able to verify warranty status by serial numbers!

awaiting other feedback thanks

I was in a similar situation a few weeks ago -- my Sunbeamtech NUUO 550w died during the semester, and the original unit was shipped to me while at school. When shipping the dead unit + proof of purchase back to Sunbeam, I specified in a seperate note within the shipping box to send the replacement unit (should it qualify for replacement, and it did) to my home address.

Sunbeamtech did so without any problems. Granted, this isn't Fortron, but I thought I would share a story with similar circumstances. Hopefully all RMA processes could be this smooth ... :p

Doesn't seem to be unreasonable to me. Perhaps your expectations are what is unreasonable...

perhaps ???????????

I just didnt know if this was customary, 3 weeks for RMA seems long to me, thats not the shipping time included either.

how many of us still have the original sales receipt after 8 months of ownership?

I guess I may be in for realignment on my thinking ?????????

other PSU RMA experiences anyone ??????????

people rarely RMA PSUs as far as i know.
If its dead.. its dead.
if its dead way before its time, thats different.

Forton makes good PSUs, (they are the OEM of many labeled brands)
but i can say that mobo RMAs can easily take a month.

As someone who used to manage RMA's for a company, I WISH we had 3 week turn around.

In other words quityerbitchin noob! :p
