So I was trying to fold and the latest beta client refused to fold. Instead of asking for help, I decided to upgrade my rig just to see if it would help. I'd like to introduce you to my rig...

As you can see, I have a new Intel hex-core CPU that works with my Athlon X2 @ 2.1GHz. I have a total of 8 cores now. The new graphics card directly interfaces with the monitor, which takes less of a load so more folding :) ! With new parts I needed a new case. I chose Xigmatek because I've heard a lot of good things.
.... yes my keyboard is from 1980.

Alright, my roommate bought a NVIDIA card... I think it's time for action.

This is what the card saw.

1.6V... you know that's a quality product.

Any suggestions on further actions?
PS... I still need help on the beta folding client. It's refusing to fold at all. I can download all the packets and establish a connection; it just refuses to initiate.

anyone have a microwave...
I want some popcorn to go with this here thread...

...I can't seriously reply to this thread...might yee make another with the details on your folding woes ...

I just don't know where to start with that rig. I think you should add a couple of more optical drives. I hear that laser light is fast...

I know what the problem is you forgot to put the ram in the dimm slots for the second CPU!

Dual CPU's I bet that thing can get 10 DPF (days per frame) on a 6904.

But I thought the bus speed on the duct tape would make up for that. :D

In all seriousness, I'm looking to build a computer off an Opteron 6212 that I found for ~$280 and use it for 75% folding, 25% gaming

My view of this thread changed rapidly to fail to win back to fail and then another brief stop by win. At this point it is either wailing or finning.

Final words: The NVIDIA threat is gone, but my rig's upgrades were lost in the battle.
I think this thread is done here.
