I'm putting together a new comp and was wondering if it was worth it to put a floppy drive in it at all. I didn't want to at first, but my friend mentioned for drivers, but don't all drivers come on CDs now?
 
Serial ATA drivers almost always come on floppies. (and so do BIOS updates)
 
AMD has floppy drives now eh?

...or does this have NOTHING to do with "strictly AMD" like i think?
 
I haven't had a floppy for over 2 years now. Granted, I don't have a serial ATA drive, but BIOS updates can be done without floppies.

Yes. You can get a floppy for like ten bucks, what difference does that make? It's cheaper than a fan, lol.
 
If you really don't want a floppy drive, you could just put one in for XP install to get the SATA drivers, then take it out after.
 
You need a floppy to install the SATA driver, Windows installation only allows you to add SCSI drivers from A:
