What's the best PCI video card to play flash games?

My girlfriend plays Farmville, Farmtown, and various other flash games. Running a Dell with older 478 mb with 2.4ghz P4. Thing is pegged at 100% usage and chokes. Thinking the best idea is to stick in a card that Flash can be offloaded to.

Looks like the 8400 gs has some anomalies and the 9400 is a little high. Any input is appreciated.

unless you're running the beta Flash 10.1 your video card isn't doing jack for Flash games.

Since the Atom processors work alright with a discreet card I'm not sure why a P4 wouldn't. Are you insinuating that it still won't cut it?

I think you missed it. This has nothing to do with atom processors, not sure why you brought it up.

A video card upgrade will not assist in increasing flash preformance. Flash is handled by the CPU, if you want better flash preformance, a better CPU is the only option.

What people here are not telling you clearly is this: Flash 10.1 only accelerates video decoding. The drawing of Flash games is done entirely by the CPU, unless the game is 3D.

I'm not sure if any of the above games are actually 3D. But if they are just 2D games, a discrete video card will do nothing for you.
