Is it possible?

I have a Dell Poweredge 2650 2U server that's about 27" deep and just got an old used rack cabinet which is about 20" deep and approx. 6.5 ft tall. The width is good enough for the server to fit but is it possible to have it go in and just have some of it stick out the back? the rails that the Poweredge came with are 27" long and won't go any shorter.. are there other rails I could get or some other suggestions you guys have??

thanks!

Hurm,
It really depends on where the screws for the rails go into the back side of the rack. I would guess that with a little bit of cunning you could easily make this work.

You can buy a rack shelf that screws in the front... You would probably need a 3u or 4u rack shelf to adequately support the rear of the server.
