First watercooling install EVER - quick question

Ok, so I finished my first watercooling install. It's gone so smoothly thanks to everyone here in this forum. So I extend a huge "THANK YOU!" to you crazy kats.

Here is my question, my idle temp on my stock, non-overclocked E6600 is around 30*C, is this good? I'm using a Swiftech storm, triple 120 rad with only 2 fans, and the Petra modified pump thingy that he sells on his site.


Also, my tubes are filled with gazillions of tiny bubbles! How do I get rid of them?

If you have a reservoir, the bubbles will dissappear after a day or so of running, or atleast it did with mine. If you have a T-line you might have to turn off the PC, let it sit, and then turn it around to get the bubbles to the T-line and out of your system.

30 degrees seems fine, depends on your ambient temperatures, 100% load temps will be the only thing i'd be concerned about, and thats if its over 65 degrees. If thats the case then then something is terribly wrong in the loop.

It's not even moving, it shot up pretty quickly to 44 and is staying there! :eek: :D
 
44 seems a little high for that setup. How long has it been running? Assuming you're using AS5, it probably hasn't cured yet, so you should see a few degree drop when it does.
 
hmmm ok, I'm using the Creamique that came with the Swiftech cpu block. It's been running for approximatly 50 minutes lol
 
yeah im idling @ 26-31c (Depending on ambient) and load from 35- 39c.... with the swiftech kit (apex ultra)

his temps are probably high caus of the bubbles

hahah welcome to water. Use Intels TAT program to see more accurate temps.
 
I've heard numerous times that C2D's don't have very flat IHS's. That can cause for you to not have as good of a mount. Also, if your line hasn't bled yet, that could effect temps slightly, but I could be wrong about that. Just let the loop run, the bubbles will work their way out.

i think poping the ihs off is probably one of the best things you can do for temps

Not very easy on a C2D, not only are they soldered on, but they are part of the socket's hold down. You're much more likely to kill the cpu trying to do this on a 775 chip. Sad, but true.
