First time to mod something, need help

I'm really wanting to start some sort of case mod on my xbox 360, but I have no Idea where to even start.

What kind of materials/tools do I need to have? I don't have any experience modding, but I really want to get into it, what should I do as a beginner?

Yeah, they have great tutorials on just about everything you might want to do as well as alot of good ideas. Alot of times the hardest part of modding is picking out what to do. just remember, even the best modders slip up and kill some hardware, don't start unless your willing to take the risk.
 
Start small. Cut a fan hole. Add some lighting.. Sleeve some wires. Then work up to the bigger stuff.
