I have a friend that just got a new E Machines desktop running on an Athlon Xp 3000+ Barton. He wanted to try overclocking and he didn't know where to start. He said he tried to change the multiplier but it was locked. What should he do. I've never overclocked anything so I didn't know what to tell him.

Is he gonna have to flash his BIOS or is it just now possible. I don't know. What do I tell him.

Also for my next comp I was thinking on tryign out overclocking as well. What mobo would be good to work with. I'm gonna be going with an Intel.
And Finally how do you overclock memory.

If he has an E-Machines, i'm pretty sure he'd be limited in his OC.

The E-machines i've worked with wouldn't OC at all :/

sorry but i dont think ur friend will not be able to overclock his eMachine :(
