Hello fellow HardForum members.
I am a relatively new enthusiast and I have a couple of questions.
I know that Piledriver is going to improve on Bulldozer, and should be compatible with AM3+ motherboards. With Bulldozer 8150 prices now less than $200 on Newegg, would you continue to wait or would you purchase an 8150, or maybe even go with a Phenom II 980 or 975? I am enthused about the increases Piledriver and the other tweaks AMD has brought to Trinity compared to LLano... and would like to assume Piledriver will do the same to Bulldozer.
I was caught up in Bulldozer mania last year when I bought my MOBO. While the 8150 is better than what I have, I will admit that I lean towards waiting for what could be the best my current socket will have to offer before it becomes obsolescent, which should be Piledriver. What concerns me is that if I wait will I experience bottlenecking with my current processor when I move to a 670, 680 or 7970? (I have almost given up on 680 for the short term).
Second question: I am leaning towards two 670 in SLI to replace my Sapphire Toxic 6950 (unlocked and overclocked so when I do replace it, I will have that 6950 up for sale...
). I like what the 670 has to offer with efficiency, drivers, cooling, noise and overclockability. It also has physx, and new software that I like. EVGA, my 600 series manu of choice has said it is having some problems with a current batch of 670's and that does give me pause. The 7970 has availability, decent sound levels relatively speaking, better than previous generation efficiency ...and overclockability. CF support...I assume they will fix that in the future .
So would you go single 670 now for future SLI when I add my second monitor, or 7970 now for future CF for that second and possibly third future monitor?

Corsair Graphite 600T white case
Asus 990 FX Sabertooth MoBo
Enermax Max Revo 1350 power supply
Samsung 830 256 gb SSD
16 g GSkill 1600 (9 9 9 24) memory
AMD 945 Phenom II (carry over from previous rig, oldest part of system) OC to 3.6 ghz
CoolerMaster hyper 212 plus in push pull, with stock coolermaster fans
Sapphire 6950 Toxic unlocked to 1536 shaders and OC to 1150 Ghz
Four Cougar PWM fans on the side screen of case, otherwise stock fans.
Viewsonic 1980 x1080 24" LED monitor (soon x 2 or x three depending on funds)
X2 Seagate 1 TB SATA II storage HDD
