I just recently built a new sff system, and ive been having some problems. namely, the thing just wont even turn on. i've put together some computers before, as have some friends that have looked at it, and we are not sure what is wrong.
an led light (for card reader) turns on in the front panel, which draws its power through the mobo. however, when the power button is pushed nothing happens. i have tried reseating just about everything. tried turning on with only one stick of ram, the proc, and the video card. still nothing. the fan wont even turn on.
i am at a complete loss and almost reduce to taking it to the local computer shop. please help. thanks.

system:
chenming case with GK8N mobo
amd64 3400+
2x512 ddr500 ram (corsair)
ati 9800 pro
maxtor ata hd

Silly question, but you are sure that you have the power switch connected to the correct pins on the motherboard, right?

Does it try to turn over at all? or just nothing?

<----- thanks xENo! :D

im pretty sure everything is connected properly, but ill check again.
had the power supply tested and it seems to be ok. my friend and his coworkers at comp usa think that it's defective and i guess ill return it tomorrow. ill try reseating the proc and hopefully that works.

edit: the fan does turn on when the power supply is not connected to the mobo. strange
