First etch, new hardware, PICS!

I finished my practice etch a few days ago, and managed to purchase my new hardware (housing market sucks, so I'm gonna use my savings to backpack europe this year instead of buying one..I dipped into it for this stuff ). I've got it all up and running, as well as having a much thicker sheet of plexi to do the final etch with. I will be making the "evo" larger and more to the left so it sits under the video card I'd like to get another cathode also so that I could run one across the top for better lighting...

hardware is now :

Enermax 460w APFC
a64 3000+ (winchester core)
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
512mb pc3200 (still waiting for delivery of my 1024mb Corsair PC3200LL kit)
9800 Pro 128mb
2 X 40GB WD
1 X 200GB WD

I know the etching kinda sucks, but you can't tell from a distance anyways. Plus, I need a real etching bit, I used a carving one that ate thru the plastic like it was butter.

good job on a good etch!!
i actually made my own bits, cause i just coulndt stand the ones they sold in the stores...

turns out that the one i made can outline a "Sharpie:Ultra Fine Point permanent marker"....thus i ahve a problem. either find a smaller Sharpie...or find a larger bit..

this is just a test out of how much "detail" i could get into it...being that i was excited about testing it, i just got the basics. curves, and lines.

btw...what kind of bike was that in ur garage?

the canadian Ninja 250, it's a ZZR everywhere else, model number is ex250-h

I wouldn't mind a dremel bit that fine actually, as then I could get the paint drip in also :

Sounds like a great deal of trouble to go through for an etch. Easy for me to say though, cause I work at a mod shop w/ a laser. If you do it on your own with the dremel, make sure you get a good piece of acrylic. It should make it easier to etch and will look much better. Some types just melt with the laser, but good stuff etches nicely.
