I'm looking for recommendations (either vendor, or a specific card) for a PCI firewire card. Just bought an ipod, and need to get the card for my tower (laptop has firewire and USB 2.0 built in). A card that has both USB 2.0 and firewire on it would be a bonus, but not necessary. Any thoughts?
 
Thanks for the info. Are those known vendors, or known to use reliable chipsets?
 
I have an Adaptec card and it seems to work just fine (mine only has three firewire ports, however). They make another called the DuoConnect which should suit your needs.
