Hi,
I am an network engineer that is increasingly becoming involved in the architecture of systems and auditing existing systems. One thing I have wanted to find is a firewall planning template or system that is not vendor specific. Network firewall concepts are theoretically that same, unless a there is a bespoke vendor feature involved. All I want is a systematic notation system/spreadsheet, or something that lets you map out what an engineer needs before they configure the firewall and which allows a manager or auditor to make future changes on that does not effect the production firewall in any way.
I am sure there is something out there, but I have yet to find it . And when I speak to other engineers, I invariable get mixed up in which vendors firewall is better etc or whatever the engineer is comfortable talking about in regards to this matter.
Any help on this would be great.
