Do you have all other components as well and just need a recomendation for the ram?

Are you planning on doing some Overclocking?

Is Noise an issue?

If you could answer those it would let some of the guys know more specifically what they would recomend.

Also are looks important?

1. I dont have these components yet, I was waiting to figure out what ram to get before I make the order, as for everyone thing else like keyboard mouse, video card I have that.

2. Not really

3. Yes, the computer will be in my room, I plan on making or buying a bay bus to control the speeds for when its time to sleep

4. It would be nice to have a blue or red motherboard but if the looks come at the cost of losing major features or performance hits ill take something thats the standard green or orange PCB

If you think there is an issue with any of the current hardware ive chosen please say something

well I personally dont like the Asus colouring:

I own an MSI K7N2 Delta-L and have not had any problems with it solid from the start and better looking ;), if not then I recomend the Abit NF7. They should all be about the same price.

Noise wise I would recomend You buy the seagate baracuda series 120G 8M hard-drive. It should be the same price as the WD, but a heluva lot quieter.

Ramwise You can go with something like DDR 400 (samsung) nothing fancy if u are not gona OC 2x512 or 2x256 depending on your budget. Even 1x512 and then once you have some casharoonies buy another stick of the same ram.

The PSU is cool, maybe a bit overkill if budget is in question IMO once you go above 350 the prices start to rise significantly, but more is always better.

Your cpu will also do fine. The stock Heatsink should do you fine for cooling if not OCing. If you want quieter than I suggest one of the Thermalright Heatskinks paired with a Panaflo fan. Something that can fit a 92mm fan or one of the Vantec HSFs Aeroflow I beleive, don't quote me on that one.

Just My $0.02

Best of luck with your system.

Cheers :D

Thanks for the replies cupavi, as for the motherboard choice I chose it because I heard alot of people had it, and hadnt heard many bad things about it though I have had my share of problems with the A7V333. My first motherboard was the MSI K7N420 Pro, I didnt like that board but that was prolly because it was the first nforce chipset :O

As for the hard drive, another hearsay thing where I heard of alot of people talking about them, the only hard drives ive ever had up to this point is Maxtor and they have satisfied me fine, no problems at all.

As for heatsink I have some big copper one with what it calls heat pipe on it, Id check the brand on the sticker but id have to have the fan stopped to do so :)

Once again, thanks for your replies cupavi

Is the seagate your talking about IDE or SATA?
And lastly newegg doesnt sell Samsung brand ram rather Buffalo Technology ram with Samsung chipset and then Simpletech ram that says the manafacturer is Samsung

Alright, NF7-S or MSI K7N2 Delta anyone anyone, take your pick on which you think is better
