Hello --

I would like to purchase a replacement for the Intel stock fan/heatsink
on my abit IP 35 Pro.

I know there are a jillion fans out there, and I know some won't work on all
boards because of what I understand are passive cooling solutions (pipes)
present on the underside of some motherboards.

Can you please suggest for me a reasonably priced ($30-$60) air fan and heatsink
for my IP 35 Pro CPU? I am using Q6600.

Thanks !!!

I'm using the thermalright ultima90 in my P-182 case. Coupled with a nexus silent 92mm fan and arctic silver 5. I'm not OC'ing yet (that'll be later this weekend), but my temps haven't gotten above 45C running Prime95.

Good luck,
Ken

I've been using the Thermalright SI-128 for over a year now with my E6400 @ 3.2Ghz and it's been doing a great job. The new SI-128 SE has a much better mounting mechanism and still cools just as well and with the fan blowing down on the CPU, the airflow also helps cool some of the other board components as well as the CPU.

Thanks, Ken.
Thanks, wtburnette ...

By chance are either of you using this on the IP35 /Pro ?
Thanks again.

I have the IP35 Pro and i'm running a Scythe Infinity cooler and 1 fan - it works great - my only complaint is that when you are pushing in the retaining pins it doesn't feel like they click in well, but mine works great and keeps the cpu super cool. I'd buy it again.

I don't have that board, but the SI-128 SE is supposed to fit all Intel based boards.

I've got a thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with scythe 21F 120mm fan on an Abit IP35 Pro with an antec p182

this solution works very well and I think I got the HSF at CrazyPC

I have the SI-128 SE with a Scythe 21F fan on an IP35 Pro. Antec 900 case. Q6600 not overclocked, CPU temp at idle is close to ambient temp. Cores are +10C, right now 25C-26C. Core temps go up to 45C-50C running Prime95.

Be prepared to lap the heatsink. Mine was convex as hell. I have read that a lot of the Thermalright heatsinks need to be lapped.
