Well I finally got my Bonneville Heatercore in the mail last Thursday. I installed it, put my computer back together with my Swiftech MCW-6002 and C-System 750 Mark II (Third one now  ) and booted it up. Right now I'm sitting at 1.87-1.89 Volts, 2.5 Ghz, and at load, it hits 43 Degrees :)

And it's quite a bit quieter than when I had the radiators off the Everycool WC-201 Kit, which had temps of 49

Just goes to show how much difference a good heatercore makes :)

yes, I totally agree. When I swapped my single 120mm heatercore (Chevy Chevette heatercore, 1986) for the DangerDen's 1977 Bonneville heatercore based heatercore with 2 120mm fans, my ambient and load temps dropped about 5 C.

Yea, 77 Bonneville heatercores rock. They are a great size too! Allows for many mounting solutions.

Where'd you mount yours? You can see my mounting job here.

How much did your Bonneville Heatercore rad cost you?

I haven't mounted it yet... I was going to mount it on the top panel.. but I'm running into some problems. Not sure if I'll have enough clearance if I use my shrouds. GOing to have to do something creative :) Cost me $32 USD from a member off of Anandtech.

The raw heatercore itself cost me $18 from Autozone. Way back when i did mine, there's a thread on mine if you search and wanna see more DIY techniques.

Mine was $17 after tax and military discount plus $3 for fittings n stuff. $20 for finished product.

I'm actually considering putting another one together for another box I am building. :)

So cheap for you guys. If i were to go buy a heatercore here in Toronto, it would cost me $60 CDN plus another $5-10 for fittings. That and I don't have the expertise to mount the fittings. I looked around and $32USD was the best price I could get. If I bought from Danger Den, it would be $35USD plus shipping... which is $22USD

I'm quite happy with it, althought it doesn't fit into my 5 1/2" bays.... and I Love the way you mounted it there.... no drilling or putting stuff through the heatercore.

Problem I'm having is if I mount it after the 5 1/2" bays (which I can), then the barbs will have to be facing the back(since I have a bayres, I can't have 1/2" tubing do too sharp a turn), and because the barbs are so long, the tubing won't fit, or if it did... it would kink too much.

I haven't really tried anything yet though since I'm waiting 'till after exams until I drill off the top of my case and get a hole saw. It'll probably fit though with the barbs facing the front of the case instead of the back.
