Finally got a gallery up

Those look really nice. Do you have any larger versions of those? They are a little on the small side.

I like the football one where the guy is making the diving tackle.

I tried making them larger, but the batch action in photoshop i used coudlnt handle them any bigger than that

And if I do go about selling my photos eventually, I don't want to be giving them all out now, but if you do look in the post your best picture thread, you can find some at a larger resolution.

I am new to photography so please excuse all my questions hehe. But for a high quality camera like the EOS-10D, does it take good looking pictures no matter what? Or do you have to do a lot of tweaking in the settings of the camera? Just tryin to learn everything I can.

If anything, a RAW from this camera will look worse than a jpeg from a high end point and shoot camera simply becuase the camera doesnt do any sharpening or bump up the saturation unless you tell it to. Its best to no do any of the stuff in the camera as you dont have control over it and it lowers the quality of the picture if you have to change it later.

But the images from this camera have alot more potential to look great than from a point and shoot.

I'm wondering how you chose the portfolio to display. Especially, when you have pics like the Gorilla and the autumn river shot, why you would include IMG_8431.jpg, which seems, to my (highly uneducated, mind you) eye to be not your best. It simply stuckout, both with the half-cut off guy in the foreground and the lack of really being able to see any detail of the player's face. Is there something specific that you are trying to show in the picture that I'm simply not getting?

[/Sincerely curious]

That shot isn't that bad. I think it is more about the action than the detail. The half-cut off guy is blurred so you shouldn't really be drawn to him. The shot may have been better if it was caught as the kicker was making contact with the ball.
