Final fantasy XI online question

i got this game a long time ago and didnt get around to installing it.. all i have is the cd's now.
does this game require a cd key or anything of the like?

Yes. You need to set up an account and to do that you need several registration codes from the game manual.

You're probably facing one of the following scenarios then:

1) If you've created a PlayOnline account before, then...

- You'll need your PlayOnline ID and PlayOnline Password

2) If you never created a POL account, then...

- You need the last page of the instruction book which lists the POL Reg Code, FFXI Reg Code, and FFXI xpac code

3) If you've created a POL account and cancelled the POL account by mistake...

- Then you're out of luck

don't worry. you're not missing out on anything. put way too many hours into this game before i realized how stupid and pointless it is. i guess i was expecting more from an ff and put up with it for a while.

To each his own I suppose. The important thing to keep in mind is that there are different MMOGs for different people, which is why everyone should get in on the free trials and Open Beta sessions if and when they can.

As for me, FFXI wasn't that bad... but it also wasn't that good.
