File shareing win 7 to Vista

I am helping a friend to share some files on their win 7 pc to a Vista machine.

Both have norton 360 on them

I setup the folder on win 7 as shared and shared without a password. problem is a ping will not get a reply from the other machine and \\IP will not open the other machine.

I think it has to do with 360 but a look at the program did not give a simple click here to open it up and fix the problem.

I need some suggestion on what to try.

I have made sure both have a ip in the same range and the subnet is the same. both are using ipv4.

Disable Norton


(Uninstall Norton and turn to your friend and say "What did the five fingers say to the face?" You say "SLAP" and at the same time you slap the piss out of him for using Norton.)
