Few intel nic problems

Hello, i just recently redid some parts of my network and have been having some issues...

my tiny workstation is having network issues... i dunno what could be the cause just yet...

2 different 1000 GT adapters, 2 different pci slots.. when it is about to start transfering ANY info according to my switch it disconnects in intervals (led goes on n off randomy under connection speed(not activity) causing the "Network location not found" error but built in realtek works fine. Can't even successfully connect to the net reliably... it might pull up 1 page... like I was able to get the the forum's main page... but wasn't able to get into a forum section... then randomly it worked and was able to get in to a section... but not a thread...

variables:

Gigabyte 945GCM-S2C
Intel e8400 @ 3.0 Ghz
4GB Corsair XMS

vista business is the os and updated drivers from intel

have xp on virtual pc and it works fine there but it uses generic 10/100 driver.

where should i look first? Hardware? driver? OS?

both sides of the connection are intel gts and switch is 1gb netgear 24 port.

tried with jumbo on and off.



2nd problem on a side note.... a totallt different comp.... intel nic fails its eeprom test any chance/way to recover from that or is it scrapped?
