I had a random reset problem after replacing my cheap HSF (Akasa 795) with the Akasa Carnival.

With new HSF,
Idle temps: Cpu = 47-49, Diode 60-62, sometimes higher.

So, I put old HSF back in and noticed:
Idle temps: Cpu = 50-51, Diode 55-56

So what is this diode temp then? Why does it go up as the cpu temp go down?

Or could it be a faullty fan circuit causing me all kinds of problems?

I have only just swapped back to the old fan, so it remains to be seen if thhis has solved the random reset problems.
