Faulty DVI or driver?

I am having a strange scaling encounter with a monitor and it seems to stemming from the DVI port on my master card in my 7970 crossfire set up. I have tried using it on two different monitors (Dell 2410, Samsung SA350H), changed the cable, but still have this issue.

Just wondering if there is a setting within Catalyst that I have to change, the driver version (currently on the RC11's) or if it could be the port itself? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, the scaling option is in Catalyst. For some reason, Catalyst defaults to 80% of the screen space, just move it to 100% and it will fill the screen as normal.

the other thing you can try is enabling gpu scaling and the other 2 checkies if you are having problems

Open up CCC,
Under My Digital Flat Panels there should be a Scaling options selection.
Click it and slide the scaling options bar all the way towards overscan.

Hopefully that fixes it.. at least that is what I have to do to get my tv to not have the black borders around it.

Cheers all, found the overscan options. Why does catalyst set it 80% in the first place? Odd....

Because there is no way for the graphics card to detect the monitor's overscan setting, a crude heuristic is implemented (HDMI: overscan, DVI: no overscan).

The alternative would be to have display only part of the picture on some monitors, which is arguably worse.
