Ok, I have a tight price limit, and I have two choices at this point:

1. FX5900SE w/ Athlon 2000+ Tbred retail
2. 9600XT w/ Athlon 2400+ Tbred retail

Which one?

Reminding you that I am primarily a sim nut (racing and flight).
I will be overclocking but there is no guarantee that the 2000+ will reach 2ghz stable.

i'd get the ati. but thats cause i like them better. i'm sure there is someone who would get the other....somewhere

how much memory are you getting? And why not a 2500+, out of your choices I would go with 9600xt with 2400+

512mb PC3200 corsair value cas 2.5
Shuttle an35n ultra nforce2

Im not going with the 2500+ because of the chance of the multi being locked.

agreed.. most 2500+'s off the production line are locked now.. no more oc'ing. The shuttle board is great .. I'm using one right now. and remember as always ... ati>nvidia.

Yes the muti is locked, but you can still easily OC it to +3200 speeds by just upping the FSB.
