One of these would be nice to keep with your boxen. If your electric resistance water heater uses $200 worth of energy in a year at $.09 per kWh, that means you used 2200 kWh. This averages to about 250 Watts that the heat pump model would pull out of the room. As long as you don't take long luxurious showers just to cool your boxen a little more your not an addict.
 
That is very interesting. Build a server room and use this to heat the water for the remainder of the house while cooling the server room. NICE!!!

 
I had one of those at my last house.

it was the first HW heater that I never managed to run out of hot water. and it put out some wicked cold air when it was running.
