As some of you may know, FarCry supports OpenGL rendering. I think to enable it you open the cfg file in notepad and change Direct3D9 to OpenGL. I personally have a GeForce4 Ti4600 and when I switch from DirectX to OpenGL there is a night and day difference in performance as well as image quality. It allows me to run FarCry at 1024x768 at medium-high settings where is is a slide show on DirectX. Now this is just on my GeForce4 and a 6800 could be a different story, but I would like to see Kyle or another review site do a FarCry OpenGL review. So this is just a peaceful petition asking kindly for a FarCry OpenGL review. Who is with me? :p

im sure they have more improtant things to do like play doom 3

Well for sure, but that's an interesting point. I should test that on my comp and see the results.

With 9800 pro, OpenGL is really slow. Graphics is horrible looking. When you shoot some stuff turns black. The level is really dark. And water is not shiny.

I think the point he was trying to make is that for NV cards, the OG path may be superior...

For my Ti4600 it is the exact opposite. The graphics are really corrupted with Direct3D but look very nice with OpenGL. It also runs a lot faster on OpenGL.

I used OpenGL...I did not tweak it, but I did not think there was enough speed with the default settings to even justify trying it any further...it sucked on my 6800GT. :D Textures sucked, detail not as good, choppy....
