I recently build a new gaming system with the help of everyone here. Everything is running well and I have ran prime95 and furmark to test everything out. CPU never goes above 55c and video card never above 60c.
I have a total of 5 fans currently in the case. The case is the fractal r4 with one fan in the front and one in the back both plugged into the fan controller that came with the case. The mobo I have is the Asus Z77 V LK. I have the hyper212+ installed in a push/pull configuration with two sp120 fans (only 3 pins), one is plugged in the cpu fan 4 pin and the other on the additional 4 pin connection next to the first one. The stock fan that came with the cooler I installed on the bottom of the case and is connected to a 4 pin on the mobo since it's a 4 pin fan.
When the system is running, the SP120 connected to the cpu pin slot is always running at full speed (2300 RPM) which I expect it to and the other one is running at a lower speed (1600 RPM). I tested both fans speed wise with the Asus software that came with the mobo and the second fan is able to ramp up and it does when I run prime95 but I'm curious why it's not at full speed. I though 3 pin connections would?
Thanks
