Fan types. Explain please.

I'm getting ready to put the parts together for my Ncase and have general fan questions.
Unless I'm reading wrong there fans that are PWM and fans that are not. Can you please explain the difference to me and how they would be used in this case.

PWM fans plug into the 4-pin fan headers on your motherboard. Normal (or non-PWM if you want to think of them that way) either plug into 3-pin fan headers, or have a big 4-pin peripheral plug (AKA Molex™) that plugs into your power supply. The fans themselves can be pretty much the same, just the connectors are different. The benefit of PWM is better granularity in control of fan speed, if your motherboard supports that.

TBH sometimes questions are asked which have been answered a zillion times or are super easy to search for. I'm on the fence with this particular question.
 
The question was really in regards to the why of having certain fans push air in and certain fans push air out and if certain fans were better for that than others.

Draw air in where you can or where you want to cool things.
Push air out where you can or where hot air can escape before circulating inside the case.
Wherever air enters or exits there is a build up of dust, so the entry/exit points can be used as dust traps.

Some fans can have their speed controlled, some make less/more noise, some are more efficient.
There are lots of sizes, generally the larger they are the more air they can shift while making less noise.
 
Sorry, but I didn't mean to be inpolite. I just think, that easy questions like this could be answered very easily, if people would just learn to use google. And there's no sugar coating it, but opening a new thread is very unnecessary, put it how you want.
