checking with everest and easy tune 5,(ds3 board e6600) says my cpu fan is spinning at 731 rpms???

mobo temp and harddrive temps are 32*c but i still thought the cpu fan would be going faster??

what's the deal, do i have something wrong or is this right??

maybe.... if it was running that slow, it would be very quiet. An possibly noticeably slow.

I've had speedfan show crazy rpms.... jumping up & down from 8000 to 2000 & back.... or one time I think it was showing something crazy like 200,000 rpms.

So its not always reliable, or maybe the sensors in the fans go bad ?

Welcome to the world of Conroe. :D That's VERY normal since these CPUs don't even really need fans on the heat sink. Quit stressing and enjoy your quiet and cool PC. :D

is there a way to manually set the fan speed to something higher, or is that not recommended

not 100% on speedfan on how to use.... i went to configure and then fans and this is what's listed:

Label Chipset Sensor Sample Bus Address
Fan 1 IT8712F Fan 1 4412rpm ISA $290
Fan 2 IT8712F Fan 2 0rpm ISA $290
Fan 3 IT8712F Fan 3 0rpm ISA $290

this doesn't make any sense to me yet??
