i'd say they're a good investment, but if i were you (and assuming if u have the money) i'd go with watercooling

but yeah, i like fan speed controllers, not that one tho

i'd go with vantec speed controllers, i'm not too fond with lcd readings since they aren't that accurate (at least from what i read from reviews and ppl's replies from my PMs to them)

what i did instead of bay style fan controllers, i bought 2 zalman fan mates, lol. they got fucked up tho cuz i was doing shit to my case and i dust got in there :( oh well

i had the vantec fan controller. i would recommend you get the sunbeam fan controller however. the vantec emits a low pitched buzz when you turn down the fans, whereas the sunbeam does not. the sunbeam has bright leds so you better make sure you have a door otherwise be prepared to be blinded. the sunbeam also changes the color of the leds depending upon how much juice ur giving the fans and has the ability to completely shut off the fans (vantec does not). plus its cheaper and you can find it for 20 bux easily on the intraweb.

oh shit i forgot all about that, sorry OP

hope you didn't take my advice or anything and bought it

Speaking of Fan Controllers...I have been trying to get ahold of a VL System LIS 2 Premium VFD (in Black)...they seem to be sold out everywhere in the USA. :(

Any ideas?

I never had use for one before I built my latest system with a P4 3.2...didn't know I was constructing an inferno/incinerator until was too late. But with initial stress tests keeping the CPU at a balmy 80C, I've now got so many CFM's cranking through this case that I really think it might well hover nicely were the exausts ducted right...

So when gaming, I don't care about the din from 8 fans ramped up for take-off...a steady 59C - 61C during Oblivion sessions makes me happy. But for other applications its just too loud, and there isn't a MB around with enough SmartFan ports, and I didn't do well trying to configure multiple fans w/thermal sensors...sooooo...this Thermaltake contraller is serving me well. With a 3-pin and a 4-molar-pass-through connector for each dial, you can really controll 8 fans (4x2) with it...and I wired in my cathode lights as well as a couple kill switches. Works great, makes my absurdly hot system nice and quiet when needed, and I like the blue-to-green-to-red LEDs under each knob...
