Hi, i have an nf7-s athlon xp 2100+(11x200). 512ddr400 kingston hyperx. Windows xp profesional w/ sp1. recently i formated my HD. so i decided to get the latest updates on all of my software. So after i got all my drivers installs. I would bootup. and get this...as soon as winbond hardware doctor(2.7) would boot up. the cpu fan would literally shut off. I was like o crap. i immediatly shut power off to it. Then i did it again same thign. After about 3-4 times of this happening. the next time i booted into windows i got a "load driver failed" error from hardware doctor and the fan didnt shut of. So i tested this theory and reopened hardware and sure enough the cpu fan shut down completely. The only way i am able to get this to work is to go through this proccess about 5 times till the fan stays on. Does anyone know whats going on cause frankly, i am confused as hell as how this can even happen.

1 - i hope you didnt install windows WITH the oc, it will corrupt an installation.

2 - sounds like your psu may be getting too much power drawn from it (???). or at least thats the best i can come up with

Yeah i installed it w/ the OC but ive never had problems with it before and its a brand new antec truepower 430.

Well, you can bypass the mainboard's CPU fanheader and only plug the RPM monitoring wire in this header, with the other two wires directly connected to the ground and 12 V wires of a Molex connector.

It won't solve this problem, but at least the system should be usable again.

i assumed he already had it in a 4 pin... i guess it could be in the 3 pin and it might be dying.
