I wasn't sure where to make this post... cause it doesn't really have to do with cooling because of overclocking, but it has to do with fans..

at about how many dBA does a fan become "loud".

by loud I mean when is it going to become like distracting.. i don't mind hearing the sounds of the fans.. but there is always a point where it becomes too much.

I think thats a personal preference. Some people can tolerate the sound of a tornado in there case. Others prefer the sound of utter silence. I on the other hand am somewhere inbetween. I have a bunch of vantec stealths in my case. Its tolerable but I plan on making a fanbus to I can go between 12v, 7v, or off. I tend to like if pretty quiet when i go to sleep but don't want to turn off my computer. So far I've jsut been tolerating the noise. Albiet it used to be louder that it is now.

To really answer your question I think anyhting over 30dB in total is loud.
