I dont know what performance is supose to be like in fallout 3, but I maxed everything

1920x1200 4xaa 15af everything as high as it could go, vsync on.

in the first part of the game, when yo ur in the vault, I was getting 40-60 FPS. As soon as I left the vault and got outside, i was getting 23 FPS.

Does that sound right, or does it sound like only 1 of the cards in my 4870x2 is doing work? I do have cat AI on and set to advanced. is there something else that could keep the 2nd card from working, or is that just how performance is with this game? IMO it doesnt look that awesome to give me performance like that.

Sounds fishy. I run exatly the same settings except vsync off and I'm getting 45-60 wherever I am. (4870x2. E8600, 4G)

maybe its a vsync glitch, I think Ill shut it off and see what happens. Ill let you know.

also, I am using the official 8.11's just as an FYI.

first confirm that vsync isnt killing your fps and that crossfire is indeed enabled (the new 8.11 cats have a feature to display a crossfire icon when its working correctly)

I had similar issues early on in the game when going from inside to outside. After getting through the first few missions from Megaton, it mostly went away.

well it was a vsync issue for me. Once I shut it off, it was stuck at 60 the whole time. Kinda wierd considering it was off.... Almost like a double on? doesnt really make sense to me. Its off but still capped at 60.

Great game tho, very pretty. I didnt really have much time to play it last night, but I did go into the school, and killed a few doods. Game seems very kool, you can definately tell its built on the oblvion engine lol, just the way people react.

That's because vsync is still on. The game's vsync setting is bugged.

The way I disabled it was through CCC. Go into the game settings for vsync, and choose to force disable vsync for all applications.
