Some unscrupulous toerags have started cloning the Laing DDC, and selling it AS the Laing DDC. Beware.

That's kind of scary. Nto that the design was cloned, but that they are being rebadged illegally.

The clones might not suck entirely, but the spindle bearing looks inferior to Laing's ball design. Especially if the spindle is cantilevered and not secured on both ends. You lose the self-balancing effect of the ball motor design.

edit - even if the other end is fixed (which, judging by the length of the shaft, it is) it would obstuct the incoming flow.

It would be interesting to see how they perform though.

They also have a 3 pin connector rather than a Molex... hmmmm.
