When you set the console version of FAH to “run automatically on startup as a windows service" does it run when nobody is logged on to a windows 2000/xp machine? or do you have to have a user logged on... I don’t know of a way to check processes with out being logged on. (if it is even possible)

see at my school I have admin, and so I can potentially install on every computer we have (something like 100) but they aren’t going to be doing much good if they only run when somebody is logged in.

Should I not be wasting my time? or is it worth

EDIT: I guess if no one has an answer, I have installed it on 10 PIII 800 MHz comps, ill see if my PPD jumps at all.

If the computer is on, it is running :)

The benefits to using it as a service.

Doooo eeeet!

NOW! :)

plz?

kthx

it will run as a service, meaning a system task, hence it does not require anyone to log on. If you read this post, borg ASAP. OCAU is coming down on us.

Service mode fold's all the time, so get your borg on! With permission of course.

Alright, ill throw it into high gear...

With permission of course.
of course  *cough*not*cough*

BTW thanks all, that answer took less time then i could hit the refresh button LOL

Be careful with that last statement... The last thing we need is bad publicity... Stanford and the [H]orde look down on folding without permission...

Definition of Borg: To Fold on someone else's computer, with permission....

That being said...... Borg everything you can!

Keep on Folding!!

ill ask, but ill probably have to write a paper to get the permission;
i guess yall know more about this then i do... so ill listen

There have been a few posts within the last few months about letters to schools,etc,etc,etc... Do a search and see what you can come up with (I'm at work, can't take much time out ot search.... damn bridge design deadlines....)

Keep on Folding!!

definately ask permission first...the last thing we need is an article in the newspaper "Boy illegally uses computers for team fame!"... or some shit like that that'll smear Folding/the [H]orde...
