wtf is going on all of a sudden? my GTS450 has had this recurring problem for a couple weeks now even after moving it to my XP boxen and doing a clean install of GPU3. Also had the over-complete issue (126%) 2 WU's ago. combine this with all 4 boxen getting 6701's and not getting full credit & both fermis getting consecutive 6800's. folding is sucking lately :(

Yeah, you're not the only one with issues. One of my systems was spontaneously restarting over and over Tuesday and couldn't figure out what the problem was. I lost a lot of SMP WUs that apparently were responsible for causing the reboots. They complete a few frames, then the machine would reboot with the client throwing errors only to download a new WU and start the whole fiasco all over again. Can't figure it out, there was nothing new on PG's end and I didn't change anything so it's a mystery for now.

well the problem with the gpu3 client is due to some one using an updated cuda SDK(that isnt related to the current cuda software we are allowed to download). note all these problems came up after that SDK was used which then threw up the DLL error a bunch of us saw. so they released a new core that started the weird percentage shit. then on the 14th they released another new core that was suppose to fix the problem. only down side is they couldn't recreate the error so the coder took a stab at it based on 1 persons information that they sent back to him. but there in lies another problem. the fact that the folding clients lack the ability to automatically download updated cores.

Is all this information on the FF? How do you find the time to keep abreast of minutiae on the GPU projects, sirmonkey? You leave me stunned by the tons of info you post sometimes, LOL.

yeah the infos spread out all over their forum in various threads. was trying to find a spot for one of the guys to post the info on the never ending WU's. the info i posted in the thread that says 136% complete or what ever on this forum. some of its information tobit gave when i was having issues with the DLL. errors in the thread i made last week i think it was. and a lot of its just guessing based on when the problems started occurring in relation to whats been changed/updated/released on the gpu3 client. though i also wouldnt doubt that the issue might be driver related but since im still running the 258.96 drivers and have no plans on ever updating them again i cant really test that.

Geez, what a sh** sandwich! And I updated all my rigs to 260.99. Been having weird EUE pauses on my GTX260 too since I stuck it in boxen #2 but I went to 260.99's when I did that so maybe that's one of the issues (never had a prob when in boxen #1 on 258's). I was really pulling my hair out when almost all my boxen started to weird out on me after the musical GPU's I was playing when my GTX460initiated some trickle downs, that is all except my server which I kept on same client/drivers and just replaced a 9800GT with a GTS250 (9800 slated for PhysX/folding GPU). This is really pissing me off as I've lost a huge portion of my ppd for no good reason. Keep us posted Monkey, if they finally nail it down to dll or driver issues or whatever we can explore for workarounds.

unless your using gtx 400 cards you shouldnt update past 258.96. theres no reason to. they stopped updating anything for the 200 series after that basically and you can manually install cuda without having to update the drivers if you wanted but i think this is a cuda problem and not completely driver related. id say go back to the 258.96 drivers except the machine with the gtx 460 in it. also if you havent yet delete your core15 and let it redownload the new one if you are having issues with the gtx 460 card still.

Well the 260 hasn't EUE paused for about a day but was only getting 292 ppd so I took your advice and rolled back to 258.96 and it went up to a whoppin' 384 ppd. I deleted the core and all assoc files and restarted the client and am now getting 6800 ppd on a P10112. It's looking better but it did this at first when I first switched it to this boxen so I'll have to keep a sharp eye on it. Will tackle the rest tomorrow, gotta get up for work in 4 1/2 hours.

but there in lies another problem. the fact that the folding clients lack the ability to automatically download updated cores.

That isn't true, the current client can auto download a core if the core update is flagged as a manatory update, if it isn't you then have to do it your self.
