Does anyone know if this type of hard drive is anywhere near reliable, or does factory recertified mean crap when it comes to hard drives?

Any input would be helpful.

-thx

If the factory recertified it, who knows better than them how it should be performing?

I had a factory recertified video card. It burned up after 2 years.
Doesn't mean anything. I've had 3 NIB ones do that. 2 ATI 9700's and a GeForce 6600.

Factory Re-certified just means its not new. Hopefully, it means they've extensively tested that it works and fixed any issues -- however, I've had minor issues with many re-certified/refurbished products, so I typically stay away unless I can't afford the brand new price, lol. One funny thing I've noticed about myself, though... regarding Hard Drives... I would never buy a factory re-certified one, but I've used plenty of them in the past without issues (when you RMA a drive, they send you a factory re-certified unit, typically; and I've RMA'd dozens of drives, lol).
