VeriSign iDefense security experts are warning Facebook users that the platform provides a perfect channel for distributing malicious software. If you use Facebook, read this article.

Ryan Olson, a United States-based analyst for VeriSign's iDefense operations against the proliferation of malicious code, said that while thousands of applications being developed by third parties for Facebook users are enriching the social network's functionality, the Facebook Platform provides a perfect channel for distributing malicious software.

I don't use those cumbersome applications. Hell, I barely use facebook anyway. Check it once, maybe twice a day for a few minutes to see what people are up to.

my facebook is set to default, aside from my digg.com app.

i can't stand all the stupid applications people add to their profiles.

One day you'll see a bunch of your friends adding applications. But on that same day other friends are removing applications.

I like the old facebook. The one with the guy's face. Pretty soon it's gonna be MyFaceSpace.

I guess facebook is set to become like MySpace with all these viruses and shit.

If say...China..punishes the virus/trojan authors with say.. castration  I bet there would be a huge reduction in authors....in the mean time I guess I will stay away from..MySpace,Facebook and so on.
